The new European Union law regarding personal data protection, GDPR ("General Data Protection Regulation"), came into force on May 25, 2016, but will begin to take effect on May 25, 2018. This law represents the biggest change in the field of personal data protection in the last 20 years and has objectives that go far beyond the simple protection of private space.
